An ka sugu — our market
Angasugu takes its name from Bambara. It was started by a family with one foot in Indiana and one in West Africa, after years of carrying baskets and shea butter home in suitcases for friends who couldn't buy them any other way.
What we do differently
We are the merchant of record. That means we take responsibility for tax, duties, delivery and returns, so a small workshop in Thiès can sell to Ohio without a customs broker, and a customer in Ohio can buy with the same confidence as from any US store.
